Giorgio Chimenti born in Leghorn on 14 December 1919. According to his statements, the family rooted in Lucca’s town-side.

His father – Tranquillo – had served as sergeant-major of Bersaglieri in the War 1915 – 1918 and in fact, several photos of the Museum in Spianate near Altopascio shown him beside the son, having over head the traditional hat with a feather.
